Oh Happy Day!

We shared a sneak peek of wedding photos on our very first blog post which you can see here but we wanted to share some more of our happy day!

There are a lot of pictures so be warned (although not as many as there are on my Facebook!)

We hope you enjoy!

Thank you so much Amy Raab for capturing our special day perfectly!

The Search for the Perfect Couch!

We're in the market for a new couch and I need something that can withstand the wear and tear of our doggies...and eventually, children! Let me please emphasis eventually though!

We have had a beautiful tan microfiber sectional that I just loooove, unfortunately, our doggies have really taken a toll on the couch and it's not looking so beautiful these days!

And to be fair the real culprit is this guy:

Yeah, don't let that cute face fool you. He is t-r-o-u-b-l-e! Before Tanner and I moved in with Matthew, his dog Gresham was only allowed on the part of the couch that was covered with a blanket. Then my little monster comes along and made himself quite at home, lounging wherever he pleased! Eventually, Gresham took note and ditched the whole blanket concept and now our poor couch needs to be replaced! (and come to think of it our chair, as well)

So, what type of couch shall we buy next?
I'm thinking leather!

I found a beautiful leather couch at Pottery Barn but it's definitely more than I'd like to spend!

But it's just sooo pretty, don't ya think?!

The couch is $2,199.00 plus tax and shipping. If I want the matching chair that's an additional $1,099.00

Darn you, Pottery Barn!

With Pottery Barn out of the question I decided to check my tried and true stores, Amazon and Overstock! Oh, how I love them! Amazon didn't have too much that I liked but I found a couch on Overstock that's worth considering! I'm a little skeptical of making such a big purchase online but it has excellent reviews, you can see for yourself by clicking here!
The entire set (couch and chair) is 1,739.99 which isn't cheap by any means but much more reasonable than the set I found at Pottery Barn.

Before we make this big purchase, the hubby and I are taking a ride out to Andrews Air Force Base this weekend to see if the furniture store there has any leather couches we like (that's where our current couch came from!)

If anyone has any suggestions for places to look for reasonably priced leather couches I'd love to hear them!

Movin' On Up!

Pardon my absence on the blog lately, the hubby and I have been busy packing!

...did I tell you how much stuff we have? Our wedding presents alone took up seventeen boxes! Yep, 1-7! And that's not even all of them, some of the presents are still stored at my parent's house! I can't wait to use all the fancy new gadgets in our house though!

We're hoping to OFFICIALLY take possession of the property next week, our settlement is still scheduled for "on or before January 16th" BUT the way the bank has been moving (no pun intended) I could see our settlement date getting pushed back. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen!
